Social Bookmarking Secret For Massive Traffic

Blogging and Social bookmarking are awesome tools for driving traffic to websites.

I want to dig deeper though, into the world of social bookmarking for traffic and link building and add little secret of mine that I wish to share with you. With this one secret, you will be able to drive 20k visitors to your website in a single day from nothing. I will begin with the finest social bookmarking sites, continue with the secret, and then go into a few other aspects of social bookmarking that will get you to better understand this process.

The Best Social Bookmarking Site
I did some research and found a few of the most popular social bookmarking sites. The first was Del.icio.us, digg.com, Squidoo, then furl.net, and finally blinklist.com. If you are going to place icons on your blog or website so people can bookmark your posts and articles, you should use these 4. Now for my little tip, we will be using digg.com because I consider it to be the best of all of the social bookmarking sites.

Using Digg.com To Drive Thousands Of Visitors To Your Site In One Day
This is simple enough to understand. All you have to do is go to digg.com, become a member and add your blog post or article. After you have done this, the hard part begins because you now have to advertise the page on digg.com with your story.

On the left of the title and description of your article or whatever, you will see a button that says, “digg it”. This is button gives a positive vote to your article. The more votes you have the higher it moves in the rankings on digg.com for the topic it is in.

If you get enough people to digg your article, other people will start to see it and digg it as well. If you get lucky, enough people will digg it and it will appear on the front page of the site. That page gets hundreds of thousands of visitors every single day! You will get no less then 20k visits from that one article.

I am not saying to go out and ask your friends to digg your article. That would be abuse and very wrong. What you can do is send the link to your article on digg so people can read it. On their own, if they choose to digg your article based on the fact that they like it, then it is okay, otherwise it can’t be done.

Only Awesome Content
I know I don’t have to talk about this at length because it's kind of obvious. If your article or blog post is low quality, it will not get any attention. Even if you are able to get a few people to digg your article, the only way it will get really popular is if it is interesting and useful or entertaining. Junk articles will not be dug by hundreds of people. Write only quality articles if you expect any results at all.

Social Bookmarking Is Better Than Article Marketing
Article marking is good, but social bookmarking is so much better for many reasons. First, when you submit an article, your content is placed on another individuals website. The only link to your site is in the author bio and that is very limited.

The only positive aspect of article marketing is that webmasters pick up your articles and place them on their own sites.

The downside to this? Sometimes they don’t leave the link to your site or the link has no value.

With social bookmarking the article is on your site and all there is, is a link to your website.

This is great because it is good for building links and there is no duplicate content.

There is no worry of people stealing your writing without leaving a link to your site as well.

Social bookmarking is a great innovation of the internet. Very soon more and more people will be using sites like digg.com for research and recreation for the best info on the net.

Perhaps one day, social bookmarking sites will dominate over search engines! In time, you will see that this little tip will be useful to you for a long time to come.
